Leonardo Dicaprio And His Passion To Save The Planet

I would like to commend Leonardo for his production of “The 11th Hour” and all those who contributed to this revealing and thought provoking documentary on Climate Change and the urgency of this problem facing Humanity today. With undeniable examples and proof from those in the scientific community, such as David Suzuki, Stephen Hawkins, author Paul Hawken, Mikhail Gorbachev and many others, referring to recent global catastrophes like Katria and rising sea levels as well as rising rates of Cancer, ADD and other diseases that can be linked to certain toxins and pollutants that are a result of how we live, do business, grow crops, engage in war and participate in the global commercialism pushed by corporations and our desire to ‘live’ a better life fueled by big oil. It presents the viewer with practical ways in which we as individuals can make a difference. The choice is up to the individual, communities and governments who will only have the motivation to take action if the people demand change now. Not 30 or 40 years down the road. We as citizens of this planet must do our part to reduce the production of carbon gases into the environment. Visit the links above to see what you can do in your own lives to save the planet.

The Boycott of the Opening Ceremonies in Beijing

It is my belief that all of the World Leaders Should go to the Olympic Opening Ceremonies and take advantage of meeting the Chinese Leaders with ALL of them present; to make the argument to lift the sanctions that has been imposed up until this time in History, and Made by the China of the Previous Century, the sanctions on the Chinese People of Tibet. The Tibetans are not seeking independence, just the right to retain their Culture. The majority of the people of the World recognizes that Tibet is a Province of China. The Olympics in Beijing represents the best of each of our Nations, coming together to showcase the eternal drive to excellence and the Honouring of Achievement, to the Best of the Athletes who are competing in these historic Olympic Games. We are in a New Century where everything is connected. Globalization cannot be stopped. Citizens of All Nations now live in Every Other Nation and there is a large Chinese population in every Nation and we trade with each other and lend money to each other and aid those in need.
We have a greater darkness to face in this Century.
The Cold War is over and the adversary is now the Fundamentalist Religious Terrorists with Al-Keda at the fore and with Iran and North Korea still presenting a threatening face. China is respected around the world and is playing a major role in the talks with North Korea.Russia, China, America, Canada, Australia, India and the majority of the rest of the world now do regular trade with each other and have great respect for the peoples and cultures of all of Our Nations combined. It is time to address the security of the world and stop human rights abuses around the globe including those carried out by the current Administration in the United States. The preservation of the financial system and the addressing of the rising cost of world food prices must be addressed as well as Climate Change which is impacting everyone.
That's my thought for now.Goodnight and Grace to everyoneDavid

Having the Flu

Friday, March 28, was a beautiful sunny early spring day with a couple of feet of snow still lying around. Edges of lawns were showing, roads and driveways were dry and clear and there was a cool breeze every now and then. I had agreed to help my brother pickup and deliver a load of hardwood flooring from Brampton to his house in Newmarket. There were about 40 boxes of wood containing approx 25sq/ft in each box. This took about 3 hours, so by about 3:30 in the afternoon the job was done. Needless to say I got a bit warm during the unloading and took off my coat. I still had 2 layers on but I guess I overdid it and got a chill after.

On my way home after dinner, about 8pm I started to feel tired, you know that heady kind of tired where you have to just lie down for a bit so driving was a determined, concentrated endevor near the end. By the time I got home at 8:30pm all I wanted to do was go to bed. Low and behold I was in bed all weekend. Completely wiped out and achy with sore elbows and mucles. I wasn't hungry either but was drinking liquids. Satuday night decided to take some gravol so that I could eat something because I had this queesy feeling in my gut that makes you feel like you're going to puke but not. Had to take another on Sunday and the next couple of days as well.

By Monday I also started to have this tightness in the chest and shortness of breath if I exerted myself. On Wendsday April 2, I was ok to drive downtown to my Doctor's appointment which had been made well before I got sick. It was just to get a script and paperwork for labwork to be done later on. Now it also included this 'flu'. I was given a script for anti-biotics for my chest congestion as well but was told to give it a couple of days to see if it cleared up on it's own. Well, I gave it a week and started to take the meds on April 9, and with one day left of this course I am still congested and coughing up flem. Hopefully it will clear up by tomorrow so I don't have to go to the Doc again.

Before this bout of flu, I had been considering what to do with the rest of my life. I am on disability and have not had a steady job for a while. My health seems to go up and down and following this episode I wonder if there is any employer out there who would understand my health concerns and allow an employee to take off 3 weeks due to illness.

Most of the time my health is pretty good but it's not consistent. Yet when I do have good days I really want to be productive and get restless just sitting around. During the summer I landscape and do odd jobs for friends or family but it's not very profitable. Often I feel caught between a rock and a hard place regarding my financial situation, my inability to do what I would like to because of the lack of funds and feeling less than normal.

I decided instead that I would start to write this blog about my life and what I have realized and exprienced throughout my journey with regards to self, humanity, world events and my spritual journey towards enlightenment and the desire to become wise.

Hope you enjoyed the read. I'll be writing more once I get the hang of this and get all the relative info down on this page.

Peace, David
